General Motor’s OnStar service has expanded the way it communicates with its users and the manner in which its services can be accessed.
TWICE reports that OnStar subscribers can use their cellular phone to remotely lock and unlock the car’s doors, remote start the vehicle’s engine, flash the parking lights, and perform other features recognized as concierge functions by OnStar. Moreover, the system will permit a cellular phone to be used to remotely gain access to car diagnostics including checking the oil life, monitoring tire pressure and more. All of this can be done from the cellular phone’s service range.
