Under the hood of the new Cobalt SS is a 2.0L turbocharged, 260 horsepower Ecotec I-4, which features variable valve timing, direct injection, high-flow induction and exhaust, a five-speed manual transmission with short-throw shifting, “Zero-Lift” shifting, and an available limited slip differential so you don’t lose any power while cornering.
The mix of power and transmission will launch the Cobalt SS from 0-60 in a stunning 5.7 seconds, on to a top speed of 160 mph!
The Cobalt SS feels just as special on the inside as it does on the road, with SS-specific interior, two-toned premium cloth, SS-stitching on premium UltraLux bucket seats, as well as titanium-faced sport gauges, with an A-pillar mounted boost gauge.
Standard interior amenities include an AM/FM/CD stereo with MP3 capable playback, a Pioneer premium seven-speaker audio system with rear subwoofer and 228-watt amp. An auxiliary audio input jack lets you play your iPod through the car’s system, and XM radio lets you hear radio stations from all over the world with perfect clarity.
You’ll also drive off with all the latest safety features available in any car; features like dual-stage front airbags, head curtain side-impact airbags, four-wheel antilock brakes, Stabilitrak Electronic Stability Control System, Traction Control, a Driver Information Center, and a Tire-Pressure monitor.
Watch for the Cobalt SS, available Spring 2008!
